Junior Database Administrator - Postions: 02
Job Description:
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of database administration concepts.
- This individual will be responsible for the design and implementation of new databases, monitoring and maintaining existing databases, resolving complex database issues, optimizing performance, configuration management, and security.
- They will work with the Database Administrator to fulfill the needs of the department.
Required Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in computer science or related area of study.
- Minimum 06 month of development experience in a technical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve Databases problems.
- Knowledge of development and testing of complex queries in T-SQL.
- Knowledge of maintaining database performance by monitoring space, CPU usage, fragmentation of data, and by tuning queries, scheduling jobs, setting alerts, etc.
- Database development, database change control and versioning procedures, work with data architects and developers to
- Migrate database changes into test, user-acceptance and production environments.
- Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in the development and testing of complex T-SQL
- Experience with IIS, .Net
- Certification in database administration for Microsoft and/or Oracle
- Experience with Oracle 9i and 10g is a plus.
- Experience with data modeling and query tools such as RedGate, ERwin, TOAD, SQL Navigator, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and carry out procedures designed to facilitate recovery from database failure, such as online backups, archiving, and exports.
