Service Excellence Officer (Contractual) - Application Maintenance & Support at Telenor - Karachi

Position Purpose: 
- Provide efficient post release functional and technical support on deployed business applications to internal and external customers as per defined service standards and KPIs.
- Respond to customer queries, complaints and suggestions and create a good image of department and company by providing exceptional customer services.

Degree(s)/Major(s): 
Graduation or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Certification(s): 
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) in .Net Framework Oracle PL/SQL

Experience Required: 
- Minimum one year experience in designing, development, maintenance, administration and support of business applications/systems with .NET 3.5/4, ASP.NET, C#, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, ADO.NET, Web Services and XML including component based development, database designing and administration with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Sound knowledge or experience in object oriented analysis and design with N-tier/layered application architectures development and knowledge of IIS/ASP.NET site deployment.
- Must be positive with a can-do attitude, a quick learner, an effective communicator and a self-starter who take creative approaches to solve challenging problems and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide efficient post release functional/technical support and training on deployed business applications to internal and external customers as per defined service standards and KPIs. Respond to customer queries, complaints and suggestions and create a good image of department and company by providing exceptional customer services.
- Ensure that all queries are properly logged, tracked and updated in query management system. Track, monitor and follow-up on the query resolution and its delay at all support channels.
- Participate in all knowledge transfer sessions required to understand the delivered solution or product.
- Responsible for build deployment and verification, system administration, access and integration of all required systems and business applications.
- Monitor applications and systems performance on regular basis and ensure that any problems are rapidly dealt with and any defects remedied. Introduce necessary security measures to ensure that all applications and systems are secure from data loss or misuse.
- Extract and send all necessary information/reports to respective stakeholders including Telenor Group for Hyperion, Global HR, Web Portal, etc.
- Be a key player in the process of continuous improvement of development and support services. Identify opportunities for improvement and proposed appropriate solutions where required.
- Participate in software and product development lifecycle including analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, administration and support of software solutions that meets the quality, performance, functional and technical requirements as established in functional design document aligned with company business requirements.
- Ensure that code is properly written, integrated, tested and verified with rest of the application according to standard quality procedures and practices.
- Define, prioritize and complete all tasks as per agreed project plan. Anticipate and catch deviations from a plan or schedule immediately when they arise and update all team members and stakeholders on time.
- Work with development, quality and business analysis team to provide a consensus based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronize with ever changing business needs.
- Participate in the research and development in order to understand and incorporate industry standards and best practices in software and product. Continuously update with the latest technologies and developments in programming to ensure that the department continues to take advantage of new ideas and developments.
- Involve in the development of policies, standards, guidelines, and support documentation that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of application within and outside the organization.
- Develop, implement and follow all necessary policies and procedures required for internal controls and compliance.

Functional Skills/Knowledge Areas: 
- .NET 3.5/4, ASP.NET, C#, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, ADO.NET, Web Services, XML.
- Database designing and administration (Oracle PL/SQL server), IIS and ASP.NET site deployment.
- Patterns and practices (design patterns, enterprise application patterns, enterprise library).
- Service oriented and N-tier/layered architecture development with object oriented analysis and design including component based development
- Very good customer services, customer handling and analytical skills.
- Data structures, algorithms, coding, and standard testing techniques.
- SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and PDLC (Product Development Life Cycle).
