VAS Development Executive is responsible for development, architecture, documentation, maintenance and extended support of multiple Value Added Services (VAS) applications and services as operated by Telenor Pakistan. The person will work to ensure timely delivery of all VAS application systems and services in order to support company’s business goals.
He/She will be responsible to coordinate and execute all activities in this area in such a way so that the maximum efficiency and performance is achieved and to develop applications/ scripts/programs as per requirements from commercial department.

Degree(s)/Major(s):
1. Masters/Bachelors of Computer Sciences
2. Masters/Bachelors of Telecom Engineering
Experience Required: 2 to 4 years
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development of core applications like CORBA, Diameter protocol, WAP, SOAP based services, integration of various IT VAS platform interfaces with other systems like SMSC, MMSC, Siebel (CRM), Provident, IN and 3rd party Content Providers
2. To have a liaison from commercial units regarding development of VAS applications; including the preparation of new core development and change to existing application/services
3. Develop and securely integrate for 3rd party providers; different programming APIs available on VAS applications and platforms
4. Documentation of all VAS related development and core modules, troubleshooting guides and help materials
5. Participation in Research routines aligned with VAS Strategy with implementation or development of such
6. Should be able to contribute towards the improvement of VAS systems and services resulting into maximum availability and performance for end users.
Functional Skills/Knowledge Areas:
1. Strong analytical skills; Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.
2. Clear Understanding of cellular mobile system technologies and GSM infrastructure, especially GPRS, SMSC, IN etc. With a focus on IP/Data services.
3. Understands principles client/server programming, ability to program in web languages (PHP, .Net, JScript) as well as in low level programming languages like Java, C++. Hardcore knowledge of Apache Web Server, Perl, SOA, SOAP, Oracle database, SQL for data extraction, Java applications, JSP, .Net, MySQL Databases, PHP & Web Services
4. Knowledge of Web Servers installation and Configuration like Apache and Tomcat for turnkey scripting.
5. Excellent computer knowledge in general and specifically in Microsoft Office products
6. Hands-on experience of working on Linux and Unix environments.
7. Extended knowledge of Value Added Services
