Director Legal / Company Secretary - Islamabad

We are seeking candidates for following positions at Multinational Organizations:

Director Legal and Company Secretary - This is a Head of Legal position
  • Company Type: Large Telecom Multinational Company
  • Salary: 350K plus
Essential Requirements:
  • Currently working as Head of Legal or one-level below 
  • Recent experience at Large Multinational (or similar) Company
  • Note: Sector (of company where candidate is currently working) is not important
Other Preferred Requirements:
  • LLB (Hons)/ Bar-at-Law/LPC
  • At least 05 years experience as in-house counsel in multi-national company(ies) or Large Public Sector Organization and minimum 02 years of additional experience as Head of the in-house Legal Department or equivalent experience (07 years) in a well known and respected corporate law firm.
Position Purpose:
To secure overall legal position of the company and its business interests and to identify and minimize the risk of potential legal issues though effective legal opinions and support. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • To ensure compliance with the corporate regulatory framework.
  • To assist the management in carrying out their functions as per local corporate framework and assist them in strategic decision making by providing legal support whenever needed.
  • To ensure compliance with the latest developments in all applicable areas of law.
  • To review and/or draft all contracts.
  • To ensure timely and proper legal opinions/support to all departments/divisions in the company by dopting a proactive approach 
  • Manage company litigation.
  • To manage protection of the Company’s intellectual property rights 
  • To set high standards for the performance of legal department with the objective to provide best in class services and to ensure the performance of the legal department meets all set KPIs.
  • To ensure compliance with prescribed company policies.
  • To manage all company secretarial matters and ensure timely compliance with company law requirements  in relation thereto 
  • To ensure that Company’s Policies are compliant of local laws and to keep synchronizing them with local law and if required formulating new policies.
  • To ensure adherence to the principles of labor laws.
  • To participate in mergers and acquisition activities contemplated by the company
Functional Skills/ Knowledge Areas: 
  • Knowledge of Labour, Corporate, Merger & Acquisitions, Intellectual Property and Contract Laws
  • Civil and Criminal Procedure
  • Ability to work independently as well and as a team player with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi task both effectively and efficiently
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu
  • Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced work environment
  • Company Secretarial work
  • Flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient
